ORA Singers is delighted to have been generously supported by Signatur, who have been with us since the planning stages of our first ever Young Composers’ Programme. Alongside the youth mentoring, this digital resource, Choral Compose, is a great example of the charitable work Signatur want to support; making music and compositional resources available to as many people as possible.
The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation was set up in 2016 and is a registered charity in England and Wales. It is a philanthropic institution which was established with two main objectives in mind: a) The advancement of the art of music and the education of the public in the same in the United Kingdom, Sweden and other countries across Europe: and b) The relief of poverty, distress and hardship and the promotion of education, health and welfare or any other exclusively charitable object in Latin America.
Its philosophy is to fund partners who have the potential to deliver structural change over the long term improving the opportunities for those who otherwise might not be able to fulfil their potential. With respect to its music objective, it provides funding directly to various organisations in the United Kingdom under the Signatur umbrella. It is also the founder of and provides funding to Signatur Foundation Sweden, which operates a similar programme in Sweden.
The Signatur Mission Statement
With the uniting power of music, create a force for an improved society through opening the doors to the universe of the art of music for people who otherwise might not have the opportunity for deeper engagement in or appreciation of high quality music. Seek to act as a counterbalance to the trends in society towards superficiality and intolerance, building on the innate potential of music to tie humanity together across ages and cultures.
